Once the sensory deprivation chamber is released, the party decides to go after the ninjas at their previously scried home base. Vadin goes out on the town to charter a boat (a clever bit of misdirection) and trades in our "Make Kovar light" stones for a "Make Kovar weigh nothing". The innkeeper (Draz'l) elects to join up, and the party teleports to the far side of the river from the mansion.

Upon arrival, it becomes obvious that Marilith has escaped. Greshona and hawk make a recon from the air, and an altar to Anubis is found.

Using Cloak of Darkness and Water Walking, the party crosses the river looking like a gigantic Dust Puppy. Oddly, no one shoots at it.

Upon arrival on the other side, detecting secret door reveals a - wait for it! - secret door. Kovar punches the door open. Greshona's hawk informs everyone that Marilith appears to be heading south towards her volcano.

As the party approaches one of the altars, Anubis appears. After Tauron critically fails his diplomacy roll, a heroic effort is made and the party interacts with the god without being incinerated. Anubis indicates that Marilith is essentially dead and is only animated by the porcelain mask. Anubis gives permission to do Marilith in (Marilith being the child of Anubis and Apep), and points the group to Apep's altar where they receive rings of fire immunity. Vadin finds a bit of loot. Ettyneen makes the building fall over, burn down, and sink into the swamp.
