In the spring of C:6:1:8, Mertus infiltrated the PPA with his cronies Bikke and Tai-xio. After the Coup of Ganeckis, Mertus was lynched by the city rabble, and his head acquired by Vadin. The Staff of Mertus was given to Ettyneen to safehold.
