August 4, 2010 Wednesday

Our intrepid scapegoats wake up in a bloody motel room. Everyone was knocked unconscious either the third or the fourth. There are no blood spatters, just smears, footprints, and blood on everyone's hands and feet, but not really clothes. The phone book says we're in Detroit, MI, at a Lucky 7 Motel. It's about 11PM, and partially cloudy.

Despite distrust, the group seems to have a common interest in getting away from the blood and the sirens that have started playing outside. Everyone leaves the room to try to find a decent vehicle to take off with. The latino claims that he can shut off cameras, start the sprinklers, etc. It turns out the room number we were in is 15, and bloody footprints go to room 16 (and less noticably away from room 15). 16 is a complete bloody mess, with four bodies, all dead, according to the priest. The latino starts the fire sprinklers as the sirens get closer...

There are three men, and one woman. As it turns out, we recognize one of the men as the POTUS and the other men are recognizably secret service agents. The jew takes TP from the priest to open the door, but walks through the door first to open it from the inside, drawing a bit of extra scrutiny from the other scapegoats. They loot the corpses (cell phones, walkies, purse) and head out to an SUV, which the jew drives in the opposite direction of the sirens. The lights become visible just as we turn the corner.

There's only a quarter tank left in the SUV, so that's a concern. The jew mentions that everyone should at least know each other and offers his name, Sammy. Andrea, Raf and Father O'Malley introduce themselves as well. The purse is searched, the woman (Lisa Anderson of Lansing, MI) accused of being a hooker, despite the president's happy marriage. Talk is had about getting to a hotel, going to Lansing, getting cleaned up, getting new clothes... decisions being made.

Also, this is apparently actually a soccer-mom car, due to kid stuff and mom stuff. We arrive at a Wal-Mart, parking in a poorly lit area. Andrea finds a pre-tow vehicle (2001 van with tinted windows). O'Malley heads in (because he has the least amount of noticable blood) to get clothes, cleaning supplies, and alcohol (for burning the clothes). Raf pulls a card number from the ether for O'Malley to use for the purchase. Sammy enters the van and opens the door for Andrea, who actually manages to hotwire the car with a paperclip and a rubberband. This one has half a tank. And some pornos in the back. And the van appears to be missing a couple rows of seats.

On the SS channels, we hear that they have in fact found the dead POTUS, and are pretty panicked over the scene because of the water damage in the motel, and the unidentifiable nature of the dead woman.

The total comes out to $187.29 (for clothes for four people, whiskey, rubbing alcohol, toiletries, cleaning supplies, pork rinds, pop tarts, glasses, ice, Ho-Hos, etc). Amazingly, the ID manages to scan as a valid credit card. As the Father is leaving, a pay phone rings and he picks it up. A German-accented voice gives him an address and a promise of information tomorrow at two. Name is "Rutger" and sources "must remain confidential." O'Malley attempts to pull a confession out of "Rutger" but gets a dial-tone.

Pockets are turned out, revealing no tracking devices. Sammy ends up revealing some of his powers to the group, including that they had to know something when he got caught because of the phrase, "That was in his file!" Andrea reveals that her phrase was "That won't work - she's not human." Hotel options are bandied about - high-class with a fireplace is an option, but the credit card problem exists. Raf insists that he can get us into a hotel, and that we'll destroy the clothing along with the van (with pornos).

Andrea has a great idea for getting rid of the van - set it up like a high school prank, with "Barons Bite!" shaving-creamed on the side, and left in the Bulldogs parking lot, freshly 'splodey. Along with the van go the clothes and the purse. The one mile jog to the hotel wears out Raf and O'Malley a little, but Sammy's fine and Andrea doesn't seem to have a problem either.

August 5, 2010 Thursday

In the hotel, Andrea watches the television - basically we already know everything they're talking about. Raf studies the computer lines while O'Malley and Sammy are checking out the swank settings. The SS apparently has fingerprints on file from the scene, but haven't matched them to the database. Raf saves the fingerprints on the camera-phone picked up from Lisa Anderson. Also on the camera are pictures of Lisa and the POTUS, in relatively upscale clothing. The last phone number called is the Lucky 7. Saved numbers include "Sammy" (AKA Samuel Franklin, POTUS).

Banter is shared about the 2PM appointment - we may need a video camera to send images to Raf. We sleep now. Nothing happens during sleep.

During breakfast (which is lifted off someone else's room number) CNN relays that four people were staying in the room next door to the POTUS, Lisa's been identified, and the "high-school prank" is getting more attention just because of the timing. The VP will be appointed on the next evening, and he'll be appointing a new VP. Maybe this whole shit-fan situation is one of their faults? There has been no comment from the first lady. The POTUS and Lisa were both shot in the chest (the POTUS specifically through the PDA), but the SS were bludgeoned by the lamp in the motel room. According to the news, the SS guns were not the murder weapons. Fox claims it's the terrorists. According to the CIA computer systems, Raf's accesses have been logged.

The group hits the mall. Raf tries on fifteen different suits (and buys three) while the other three get clothes, eat, watch movies, wander around, and generally waste time. A police scanner and a cell phone charger get picked up. Andrea checks to see if she's been reported missing - she has. Raf's emails notify him that he's been missed too, and lets people know that he's doing research on various Michigan industries. Sammy's been fired.

We actually end up walking to the warehouse (about 2 miles away from the mall), and everyone ends up setting up in the main entrance. Rutger (we assume) is wearing a decent suit, a goatee, and sunglasses. He welcomes us in, and we step through the door. He then accuses us of the assassination, to which Andrea replies with an accusation of sheer stupidity (or at least ignorance). He then tells us we should have woken up a minute or two later. He won't tell us who he's working for, but that he needs to clean up. There's a thug in the corner that Raf can read, but he knows nothing except that he needs to take the group down. Apparently, the four of us were "convenient" for this little task. At which point, he gestures, and the group experiences a bizarre visual shape shift that nauseates Andrea and Raf. See what happens... next time.
