Gemma joined the party after bonding to the Amber Pendant during Bhareg's faen genocide. A mysterious verrik from the Verhon city of Hitoyama, Gemma was attending Melmond's university when his professors were killed by the ghouls and wights created by Bhareg. He took up his ancestral enchanted katana and was protecting friends when Leif fell in battle. Vowing to help defeat the forces that had destroyed half of Melma, he joined the Light Warriors.
