Just a little before the party initially banded together, Ganeckis was forced to resign from the PPA by Mertus and his accursed Crown of Astos. He was close to death when the party reached Pravoka in the autumn of C6:1:8, but was saved by their quick thinking.
The next day, after Vadin's word-of-mouth campaign, Ganeckis rather forcefully retook control of the PPA with the support of the city's working class, represented by a seething mob. After a popular vote by the people, Kovar took Mertus' head and Ganeckis was quickly reseated.
